Truancy Intervention Project Is Now Student Engagement Alliance!

our name has changed but

Our Dedication

remains the same.

Together with schools, families, and partners, we’re engaging students with chronic absenteeism, removing barriers to attendance, and empowering them to succeed.

Absenteeism is a nationwide crisis that hits close to home.

When chronic absenteeism goes unaddressed, it impacts individual potential, school culture, and entire communities.

These absences are rarely a choice. They are the result of barriers like housing instability, trauma, and unmet needs.

Questions

Why did Truancy Intervention Project change its name to Student Engagement Alliance?

We changed our name and branding in 2026 to reflect our broadening mission and emphasis on removing barriers and preventing absenteeism—not just intervening in truancy cases. Learn more about the change here.

All legal representation that we provide is free. We are committed to ensuring that every child facing truancy issues has access to quality legal support without any financial burden.
Our organization offers several programs, including Early Engagement for school-based support, legal and court-based advocacy, mental health and resource referrals, holiday gift drives, and community and statewide advocacy efforts to drive systemic change.

Yes, we are open to partnerships with schools, educators, legal professionals, and community organizations. Please contact us for more information about collaboration opportunities.

We couldn’t do this work without the contributions of volunteers and donors! You can get involved by donating your time, skills, or financial support.
We were founded in 1991 and remain Georgia’s only nonprofit dedicated to improving school attendance by removing individual barriers.
We offer a variety of resources and support for parents and guardians to assist them in understanding and tackling truancy. These resources are accessible through our various programs. Follow us on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and our newsletter for updates.
